Indian Army Organises Ex-Servicemen Rally at Boniyar, Reaffirms Commitment to Veterans' Welfare

Srinagar, June 20: In a significant outreach initiative aimed at strengthening engagement with the veteran community, the Indian Army's Chinar Corps on Saturday organised an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally at the Chinar Nau Jawan Club in Boniyar, bringing together a large number of veterans and their family members. The rally served as a comprehensive platform for former servicemen to interact with representatives of local Army formations, seek redressal of grievances and obtain information on various welfare schemes and services available to them. Several dedicated service counters were established to provide integrated assistance under one roof. These included a Zila Sainik Board counter for pension-related grievances and welfare matters, banking counters offering guidance on financial planning and investment opportunities, and a Medical Assistance Counter providing basic healthcare consultation and treatment. A dedicated SPARSH Portal counter was also set up to assist veterans in resolving pension-related issues, updating personal records, accessing pension information and familiarising themselves with the platform's digital services. During the event, the Commander of the Pir Panjal Brigade interacted extensively with the veterans and reaffirmed the Indian Army's commitment to their welfare. Addressing the gathering, he said the Army remains steadfast in supporting, empowering and engaging with ex-servicemen through sustained outreach initiatives and welfare-oriented programmes. According to the Army, the rally reflected its continued commitment to honouring the invaluable contributions of veterans and ensuring their welfare through accessible support services and regular engagement with the ex-servicemen community.
