LG Sinha Calls for Unity and Renewed Patriotism at Vande Mataram@150 Closing Ceremony in Jammu


Jammu, March 30, 2026: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday attended the closing ceremony of the special phase of Vande Mataram@150 at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu, urging citizens to unite with a shared vision of making India the world’s greatest nation.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor described Vande Mataram as a symbol of national identity, strength, and resolve, stating that it transcends mere verses and represents a deep civilizational experience. He said such initiatives revive the memory of freedom fighters, honour their sacrifices, and reinforce commitment to the nation’s progress.
Calling for collective action, he emphasized that the dream of a developed India can only be realized through unity and active participation of every citizen. He expressed confidence that the collective spirit of the people of Jammu and Kashmir would emerge as an “unstoppable force” in nation-building.
The week-long special phase, held from March 23 to March 30 to mark Shaheedi Diwas, commemorated the sacrifices of freedom fighters and celebrated 150 years of Vande Mataram. The Lieutenant Governor noted that enthusiastic public participation in previous phases reflected a growing sense of patriotism and social transformation across the Union Territory.
Highlighting recent progress, he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed deeper integration into the national mainstream, alongside accelerated development and increased public engagement in national initiatives such as Vande Mataram and Har Ghar Tiranga.
He further observed that despite global challenges over the past decade, India has maintained resilience and continues to be the world’s fastest-growing major economy.
Reiterating the importance of patriotism, the Lieutenant Governor said it forms the foundation of peace and progress, encouraging citizens to contribute responsibly towards societal growth. He added that Vande Mataram symbolizes the aspirations and sacrifices of generations and serves as a reminder to honour the past while building a stronger future.
The event also featured tributes to freedom fighters, a photo exhibition on their contributions, and cultural performances by artists from the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and students of Cluster University of Jammu. Senior officials, public representatives, and prominent citizens attended the event
