Jammu, March 27: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday interacted with a group of students from Army Goodwill School (AGS), Saujiyan, Poonch, who are visiting Jammu as part of the J&K Integration Tour organised under Operation Sadbhavana.
The outreach programme, conducted by the White Knight Corps, aims to promote national integration and ensure the holistic development of children from remote and border areas.
During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor lauded the Indian Army’s sustained efforts towards the welfare and development of youth in border regions. He emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in nurturing young minds and strengthening the spirit of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.”
The visiting contingent comprised 33 students, accompanied by teachers and Army personnel, who also shared their experiences from the tour.
The primary objective of the programme is to provide exposure to children from border villages and enhance their understanding of the country’s cultural, social, and institutional framework, while fostering confidence and a sense of belonging.
As part of the itinerary, the students visited Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu, and Srinagar, where they were exposed to diverse environments and institutions.
The tour also offered several first-time experiences for the students, including rail travel to Srinagar, exposure to urban settings such as shopping complexes, a visit to the Air Force Station in Jammu, and insights into the Army’s way of life—significantly broadening their outlook and boosting their confidence.
