Srinagar: Olympian shooter Chain Singh has expressed strong support for the recently announced Jammu & Kashmir sports quota selection list, describing the process as fair, transparent, and based entirely on merit. Reacting to the ongoing debate over the selection list, Singh appealed to the public to refrain from spreading misinformation or politicising sports-related matters. He stressed that sports should remain free from unnecessary controversy and that the achievements of athletes must be respected. Highlighting the dedication required to excel in competitive sports, the Olympian said that every sporting success is the result of years of relentless hard work, discipline, and sacrifice. He asserted that deserving athletes who have earned recognition through merit should receive encouragement and support rather than becoming the subject of unwarranted criticism. Singh reiterated that merit must remain the sole criterion in sports-related selections and urged all stakeholders to uphold the integrity of the selection process while fostering a positive environment for aspiring sportspersons in Jammu and Kashmir.
