Srinagar: In a major push to border connectivity and defence readiness, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh on Sunday dedicated 22 crucial infrastructure projects of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The projects were inaugurated virtually from Ladakh, while Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha joined the event via video conference from Jammu.
The newly completed infrastructure—executed under Project BEACON and Project SAMPARK—includes a series of roads and bridges constructed across some of the toughest and most remote terrains in the region. According to officials, the projects will significantly improve year-round mobility for the armed forces and strengthen logistical support along sensitive border stretches.
“These national security infrastructure projects in some of the most difficult terrains will provide all-weather access to remote areas, enhance military movement, improve rapid-response capability, and support local development,” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said.
The Lieutenant Governor expressed his gratitude to Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh and conveyed his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritising the expansion of border infrastructure and driving socio-economic growth across Jammu & Kashmir.
