Budgam, October 20, 2025:
Leader of Opposition in the J&K Assembly Sunil Sharma, along with BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul and General Secretary Anwar Khan, addressed a massive nomination rally at Budgam in support of BJP candidate Aga Syed Mohsin.
The rally, marked by a spirited turnout from across the district, reflected what party leaders described as “the people’s growing trust in BJP’s vision for peace and progress in Jammu & Kashmir.”
Senior BJP functionaries including Mudasir Wani, Arif Raja, Hakeem Ghazi Ruhullah, Dr Ali Mohammad Mir, Sheikh Bashir, Bhat Imtiyaz, Bilal Parray, Er Aijaz, Manzoor Bhat, and Ashraf Azad were also present at the event.
In a forceful address, Sunil Sharma categorically denied any possibility of government formation with the National Conference (NC), calling it “out of the question.”
> “We will never form a government with NC, nor do we have any need for it,” Sharma asserted to loud applause. “We will not align with those whose hands are stained with the blood of innocent Kashmiris. Our loyalty lies with the people of Jammu & Kashmir — not with the politics of convenience.”
Sharma said the people have rejected dynastic and exploitative politics that dominated J&K for decades.
> “Those who ruled this land for years destroyed institutions, misled youth, and looted public resources,” he said. “BJP is building a new, transparent, and accountable political culture that will restore faith in democracy.”
The Leader of Opposition further claimed that BJP enjoys the confidence of the people and is capable of forming the government independently.
> “Whenever we wish, we will form the government — not through opportunism, but through people’s mandate,” he declared.
Ashok Koul, addressing the gathering, said the overwhelming participation at Budgam symbolized the growing public faith in BJP’s leadership and policies.
> “Our strength comes from service, unity, and commitment to every citizen,” he said.
Anwar Khan emphasized that BJP stands for genuine empowerment and equitable development across J&K.
> “Budgam’s people have embraced our agenda of transparency and inclusive growth, and this change will soon be visible on the ground,” he remarked.
BJP’s Budgam candidate Aga Syed Mohsin expressed gratitude to the people for their enthusiastic support.
> “I appeal to every voter to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said. “With your support, we will build a peaceful, prosperous, and united Budgam.”
