Srinagar, October 20:
Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma made a firm declaration during a massive nomination rally today, ruling out any possibility of forming a government in alliance with the National Conference (NC).
Addressing a charged gathering of supporters and party workers, Sharma said his party’s politics is rooted in the dignity, peace, and progress of the people of Jammu & Kashmir — not in power-sharing arrangements.
> “We will never form a government with NC, nor do we have any need for it,” Sharma asserted amid loud applause. “We will not join hands with those whose hands are stained with the blood of innocent Kashmiris. Our allegiance is to the people of J&K — not to opportunistic politics.”
The Opposition leader said that the “era of dynastic politics and exploitation” in Jammu & Kashmir had ended, and people were now rejecting the divisive politics of the past.
> “Those who ruled for decades misled our youth, destroyed institutions, and looted public wealth. We are building a new political culture based on transparency, accountability, and trust in democracy,” he said.
Sharma expressed confidence in his party’s strength, saying it was capable of forming the government independently.
> “Whenever we choose to, we can form the government on our own. The people of J&K stand with us because they see in us a vision of peace, progress, and justice,” he added.
He urged party workers to stay united, maintain close contact with the grassroots, and carry the message of hope and transformation to every corner of the Union Territory.
The rally drew a large and enthusiastic crowd from across regions, reflecting growing public support for the party and increasing confidence in Sunil Sharma’s leadership.
