J&K Assembly Pays Tribute to Former Ministers During Autumn Session

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Monday paid tributes to former ministers Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Dharam Paul and Ghulam Hassan Khan, who passed away since the last session of the House. The obituary references were taken up at the beginning of the Autumn Session of the Assembly, with Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather recalling the contributions of the departed leaders to the social and economic development of Jammu and Kashmir. The Speaker said the former ministers remained actively associated with the social and economic affairs of the region and made valuable contributions towards the welfare and development of the people. Members of the House observed a moment of silence as a mark of respect to the departed leaders and expressed condolences to their bereaved families. The Speaker urged the members to make judicious use of the time available during the session and discharge their responsibilities with dedication and sincerity. He called upon the legislators to work in accordance with the aspirations and expectations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
