MP Er. Gulam Ali Khatana Holds Public Darbar at Bathindi, Several Grievances Resolved on Spot
JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 21: Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Er. Gulam Ali Khatana on Monday held a Public Darbar at Panchayat Ghar, Sunjwan Lower, Bathindi, providing residents of the surrounding areas and adjoining panchayats an opportunity to raise civic issues, public grievances and developmental concerns directly with him and the concerned government departments.
The programme witnessed participation from residents of Malik Market, Lower Sunjwan, Upper Sunjwan, Narwal Bala, Bathindi and other adjoining areas, besides representatives and residents from various wards of the Jammu Municipal Corporation.
During the interaction, residents raised issues concerning road connectivity, drinking water supply, power supply, drainage and sanitation, public infrastructure, civic amenities and other developmental requirements. The participants apprised the MP and government officials of issues affecting their day-to-day lives and sought timely intervention for their resolution.
Senior officers and representatives of various departments, including JPDCL, Rural Development, Education, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Health, Revenue, Tourism, Agriculture, Floriculture, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Jal Shakti, Irrigation and Flood Control, PWD, Social Welfare, Labour and Employment, Youth Services and Sports, Mining, BRO, NHAI, J&K Bank and other concerned departments, were present during the Public Darbar.
The participation of officials from different departments enabled residents to place their grievances directly before the authorities concerned. Several issues were resolved on the spot, while the remaining matters were referred to the concerned departments for necessary action and follow-up.
Prominent citizens, former chairmen, Sarpanches and other local representatives also attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana emphasised the importance of direct public interaction in identifying issues at the grassroots level and ensuring that genuine grievances receive appropriate attention.
He stressed the need for coordinated efforts among government departments and regular interaction with the public to ensure effective follow-up on issues raised by citizens. He said the presence of officers from various departments provides an opportunity to discuss grievances directly and initiate action through the appropriate channels.
The MP assured the participants that genuine issues raised during the Public Darbar would be taken up with the concerned authorities and pursued through the appropriate mechanisms for timely resolution.
The Public Darbar underscored the importance of continued public engagement and inter-departmental coordination in addressing civic and developmental concerns in Bathindi, Sunjwan, Malik Market, Narwal Bala, adjoining panchayats and areas falling under the Jammu Municipal Corporation. ANB
